BOMMA’s Sacred Enlightenment light installation comes to Brussels’ Art & History Museum for the Bright Festival. Following its success at Designblok in Prague at St. Salvator´s church, the stunning hand-crafted Flare crystal suspension can now be admired at its new temporary home. The brand has collaborated with creative studio Lunchmeat and perfume house Pigmentarium to merge art, fragrance and design in a spectacular installation.

Designed by Katerina Handlova, every crystal rod is manually pulled, making each piece totally original and with a unique swirl of light spiralling through its interior. This effect is achieved using a traditional glassmaking technique, where the molten glass core is covered with small glass shards known as sinter, then dipped back into molten crystal. The glassmakers then pull the piece to the desired length, stretching the fragments across the interior of the glass rod. This creates a mesmerising texture inside the rod, resembling a miniature Universe that flares every time the switch is flipped.
