Bomma has become a partner of the prestigious Czech Architecture Award, organized by the Czech Chamber of Architects. Known for its iconic lighting fixtures, Bomma is launching an open competition for the design of the trophy that will be awarded to this year’s Czech Architecture Award winners. The competition is open to designers, architects, and students, emphasizing creativity, aesthetics, and a deeper connection between the worlds of design and architecture.
Submissions can be sent to design@bomma.cz no later than March 7, 2025. The winning design will be selected by a professional jury comprising representatives from Bomma, the Czech Chamber of Architects, and other renowned figures in the fields of design and architecture. The winning concept will be brought to life at the Bomma glassworks and ceremoniously presented during the announcement of the Czech Architecture Award winners in November, 2025.
“The collaboration between the Czech Architecture Award and Bomma brand reflects the constant dynamics in Czech architecture and in the Czech Architecture Award. Thanks to the competition, we want to give space to a modern concept of the trophy, of which each of the winners will be proud. With this project, we want to celebrate not only the beauty of architecture, but also Czech glass,” said Jan Kasl, chairman of the CCA.
“Design lighting and quality architecture influence and complement each other; one cannot exist without the other. We have long been committed to supporting the local architectural and design scene, and this partnership is a prime example of that commitment,” said Aneta Hoffmannová, Marketing Director at Bomma.
